What should your display look like?

Part of celebrating playing a tabletop game during SpielMas is highlighting your creativity.

At its core, SpielMas is about you playing a game each night between December 26-31. So what would you create as your display of that achievement?

Goal

Think of a way to create a display where each day you can add something to mark that you have played a game.

Here’s a few ideas:

Pieces

What you use to record a played game should also be part of your creative process.

  • Pick any object you like to mark the play. They can be the same or different, but there needs to be six objects.

  • Start with your existing game collection, and use parts of games you don’t play during those six days.

  • Use a piece each night from the game you play.

  • Theme your choice of pieces to match the games you play or a statement you are trying to make.

Come up with a way that all six of your pieces can be seen on your display.

  • Use a single hexagon tile from an existing game. Each side or point becomes a place you can place a piece.

  • Use a print-and-play PDF sheet of a single or multiple hexagons. You could place a piece or draw/write something in the space.

  • Obtain a ceramic tile in the color and style you like.

  • Craft your own tile with clay, with a colorful glaze and indentations that will hold each piece.

In the end, sharing this display should reflect not only on the joy of having played a game but the anticipation of putting together a display that speaks to who you are.
