International Games Week

This week starts International Games Week, thanks to the American Library Association.

Since 2007, 2,000 participating libraries worldwide have hosted gaming events each November. This year, of course, they will focus on the ability to play at home or online.

Sound familiar? It’s much like what the SpielMas festival will do between December 26-31.

So, think of IGW as a dry run for the SpielMas. Reach out and contact an old friend about playing during IGW and later during SpielMas. Help someone set up an account on an online gaming site. Then play a game that is simple, strategic, short and shareable. Talk about what you’ll use to display when you celebrate the playing of your game. And then share that experience with the #SpielMas tag.

In addition, tag your stories using the official #ALAIGW tag as well.
